Game Description
Tiny UFO is a game about delivering random creatures to a wizard through the use of your UFO. As you progress, the town becomes angry with you, the birds work together to shoot you down, and enemy aliens swarm the edges of space. See how far you can get before getting shut down!
Critiques of the Game
I designed this game around the same time I designed BitSpace. It’s honestly a solid little arcade game and isn’t far off of being a fun party game with some polish.
Highlights of Tiny UFO
- It’s funny and interesting to explore
- The game scales in difficulty properly
- The UFO controls are very smooth, and the movement sound effects are also neat
- The game feels relatively complete
- You can kind of abduct the wizards hat, which is cool.
Flaws of Tiny UFO
- The music is terrible during gameplay
- The world design is clunky, could use a more interesting environment
- After a while there’s nothing new, and you usually end up just catching birds for all eternity. The entire rest of the map becomes irrelevant after you clean it out.
- The pixel art could definitely use some work, as with the UI and the fonts. And the wizard’s dialogue is formatted in a way that rather clashes with the rest of the game.
- There’s not really a progression. You just kinda fly around until your ship is destroyed and then you lose.
